I thought the use …
I thought the use of a Teddy Bear as a prop was inspired. I really love watching chair, erotic, and burlesque performances. I think humour is a big part of sexual and erotically based performances–especially if you are already “intimate” with your “audience.” As for the complaints from belly dance purists–come on!..all dance is on a continuum in the extent to which it has an element of sexual and “mating” display. In the right time and place, there’s nothing bad about sexually charged dance.

My logic was, is it is difficult to practice these concepts without a partner, and I thought it would be to wierd to have a man in the chair (and who wants to learn a dance with their partner in the chair), so Teddy volunteered. HA!
